[edit] MUD Definition

From "help landscape":

Usage: landscape

The landscape command allows a ranger to take advantage of his skills in the wilderness, and take stock of the surrounding landscape. Based on level, and the wilderness skill, more powerful rangers will be able to view a larger section of the landscape. Taking stock of the surrounding landscape takes both time and energy. This is a ranger-only command.

The following is a general key for the symbols seen when viewing the landscape. Please note that the symbols are -generally- accurate for most of Arda:

  • (|) - Forest
  • (*) - Noteworthy
  • (_) - Plains
  • (^) - Hill/Mountain
  • (~) - Water
  • (+) - Road/Path
  • (=) - Ford

Your location on the landscape map will appear in bright red, if you are capable of viewing colors. If you are in a room represented by an empty space (like " "), your location will be shown by an "X".
